WOMP!

I remember it oh, so vividly. It was July 28, 2003. Yes, I remember the date that well, because it was the day that I thought real hip hop love was REAL. I love Kelis, and I heart NAS. So when they got married and I saw the pics of her in that green dress. I was like a kid that was told Santa brought all this for me, for being a good girl this year. Lol. Besides Kelis, is what got me through my travels of being a Black girl stuck in Tokyo. And I grew up on NAS that was all my father played in his Tahoe so I really FELT this couple. Also, if I would have known they were going to get a divorce, maybe I would have held eye contact a bit longer when I saw him at Mr. Chow's. jk. but not really lol.

My heart sank. The divorce is real, Kelis is hurt. NOW What?!?!? I know I still have JayBey but still, they were still rugged fly and I really appreciated that. Ah well. At least we can feel like she’s coming out of it with her head up.
