I never want to seem like I am making excuses for Kanye's outrageous behavior in the past. However, when an artist has talent you just have to give them credit for that, and place their personal lives aside. A lot of times we (the non-famous) tend to place these artists on a pedestal of glory. As if they are not human, and dont commit the same wrongs we, or people we know commit on a daily. We excuse those we know based on the circumstances or love we have for that person, but we expect those in the public eye to be the most upstanding individuals ever.
Not that they shouldn't, being that they are in the public eye and all. But I'm going to remix what Kelis said, "being perfect (she said pretty) is exhausting". I can personally admit that I am guilty of falling off the pedestal. And it didnt hurt, it just made me realize that I have to be who i am, not who people think i am. Although it is a slight blow to your ego, because you are then judged it is also a jet booster to your self esteem because you are finally comfortable.
I say all this to say, let Ye be great. let him be Billboard's male artist of 2009, next to the woman he "backslapped" at the MTV awards.

Because at the end of the day we love his art. and that's all an artist can ask for,
appreciation of his work.... that's all he has... **KanyeShrug**
